From humble beginnings in a terraced house in Riverside, Cardiff, Cheeky Monkey quickly established a reputation for itself as a creative and responsive consultancy, punching above its weight.
In 2003 Cheeky Monkey Creative became a limited company and moved into its first office. Company founder Bleddyn Edwards set about building small team of focused design professionals to continue the good work. A few office moves later and CMC has moved into a new innovative way of working. Since August 2019 we have been operating as virtual consultancy. CMC continues to exceed expectations, working with a wide variety of clients from blue chip corporates and third sector organisations to start up businesses. The ethos remains the same. Working in partnership with clients to deliver a creative solution that not only gets results but adds value.
We have taken many clients through the process of branding or rebranding their business or organisation. Although most people think of branding as an external visual representation, we have worked on the principle that it is just as important to get buy-in from people within the organisation. It is as much about the ethos of the business and the way it operates, as it is the way it outwardly represents itself to customers and users.
We also have a great deal of experience working with established brands. Our understanding of the importance of a well implemented and maintained branding strategy, is behind the success we have had working with larger organisations. In these situations it is still important to maintain a creative output and to answer briefs successfully, whilst still working within the parameters of the established brand.
When tackling a digital brief we approach it with the same openness and flexibility that we would employ with a print or branding project. Digital output, whether it be via email, website, presentation, video or animated sequence needs to be engaging.
The message and the way it is successfully communicated is again the important element of the brief. Regardless of whether we are considering a customer journey through a website or trying to raise a smile, the same principles apply. The success of a project should be measured by achieving engagement and a successfully communicated message. In delivering digital/web project we will often work with key partners who bring their own expertise to bear in complementing our creative strategies.
A design project often requires elements beyond what can be sourced from stock image libraries and we have successfully answered a number of briefs that benefit from the use of illustrated elements ranging from icons through to fully animated sequences in a number of styles. We makes use of our in-house talent as well as commission work from our trusted creative partners.
In summary, we have the creative flair paired with our years of experience and industry knowledge that allows us to provide a service to enhance any communication and design output. Provide us with a brief and we can exceed your expectations. Our values of integrity, openness and commitment to excellence are the basis of the long-term successfully relationships we love to build. We look forward to hearing from you. Please get in touch. 029 2023 7015. email@example.com.
Design for print is the bread and butter of the output of the business, and is the background that the business was built on. Print design is a vast area – from brochures and reports to sales literature, leaflets and posters and also including the design of exhibition material such as banner stands and pop-up displays.
We also have experience designing for shop fascias, building sign systems, and vehicle livery. All these areas require variations on the basic core skills of design for print. Working with the client as a partner and understanding the message to be communicated we apply creativity and knowledge to ensure that communication is successful. We apply this process whether we’re preparing an internal corporate newsletter or marketing a preschool nursery to parents.
We also assist our clients in sourcing print. This doesn’t just mean the most competitive price, although this is important. We have a knowledge of print processes and paper and we can advise on selecting the right finish and weight of paper in order to enhance the communication in print. A well considered design can be let down if it doesn’t appear on the right material.
